The Role

My client is seeking a proactive and commercially astute Senior Legal Counsel to join their dynamic team. In this role, you will provide expert legal advice across a broad spectrum of commercial matters, support corporate governance, and contribute to strategic business decisions. You will work closely with senior management and stakeholders to manage risk, ensure compliance, and enable the business to operate effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide practical, commercial legal advice across diverse business areas, including contracts, transactions, and general corporate matters.
  • Identify legal risks and provide solutions that balance risk with business objectives.
  • Support regulatory compliance and risk management initiatives.
  • Contribute to internal policies and procedures to ensure business compliance and operational efficiency.
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant legislation and regulatory developments, providing timely updates and guidance.
About you
  • Hold a current practising certificate in New Zealand.
  • 4+ years PQE
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to provide practical, business-focused legal advice.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative and proactive approach to problem-solving.
