Te Tūranga – The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and proactive Senior Health, Safety & Environment Advisor to join our team. In this critical role, you will support the Global HSE Manager and champion our commitment to a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible workplace across our New Zealand operations.

Working within our telecommunications and manufacturing environments, you'll play a hands-on role in both field and office-based responsibilities. You will ensure contractor and internal compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards, while fostering a strong safety culture that aligns with our values and strategic goals.

The duties of the role will include:

  • Supporting the Global HSE Manager in achieving global HSE goals.
  • Lead internal and contractor safety and environmental audits, both onsite and desktop.
  • Reviewing and analysing contractor documentation to ensure safety compliance.
  • Driving continuous improvement in health, safety, and environmental systems and processes.
  • Building strong, positive relationships with internal teams and external contractors.
  • Overseeing injury investigation, rehabilitation processes, and ACC accredited employer program.
  • Ensuring readiness and response planning for emergencies across NZ operations.
  • Preparing timely and accurate reports and documentation for senior management.

To be successful in this role, you will have a relevant tertiary qualification and/or significant experience in health, safety, and environmental management-ideally within a manufacturing or telecommunications environment.

You will also bring:

  • Demonstrated experience in HSE auditing, compliance, and reporting.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain high quality standards.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
  • A collaborative approach and strong interpersonal skills to influence and engage others.
  • Clear and confident verbal and written communication skills.
  • A positive, proactive mindset and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced, changing environment.

Preferred:

  • Understanding of LMR networks or mobile communications and associated safety requirements.
