Job summary

Based from our Whangārei office, LDE, an AtkinsRéalis Company, seeks a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our North Island project teams. You will contribute to foundations, ground improvement design and site investigations across commercial, residential and coastal sectors, balancing fieldwork with office analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in engineering (NZ-based preferred).
• 5–7 years of relevant experience in New Zealand; Northland experience advantageous.
• Experience with RocScience suite, CLIQ, CPet‑IT and Settle3.
• NZ restricted and clean driver’s licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead foundation, retaining wall and ground improvement design and assessment.
• Plan and undertake detailed site investigations and reporting.
• Contribute to residential, commercial and coastal projects across the North Island.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship within project teams.

Your role

Based from our Whangarei office, we are now seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our team. We have a diverse portfolio of forward work in the commercial, residential, coastal, central and local government sectors both in Whangārei and across the North Island. As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer at LDE you will be an integral part in the project life cycle. Keeping busy will be easy but a balance between work and life is compulsory at LDE and our flexible working hours support this. If you already live in Northland (Whangārei ideally), you will know what a great region it is. If you are willing to relocate, you will quickly get to know the area and all that it offers.

About you

• Tertiary qualified in engineering e.g. bachelor’s degree or diploma
• Between 5-7 years of relevant experience in NewZealand, Northland experience would be advantageous.
• Software user in RocScience suite, Cliq, CPet‑IT, Settle3.
• At least a restricted and clean NZ driver’s licence.
• Residential development, commercial projects and construction monitoring
• Technically sound in foundation, retaining wall, ground improvement assessment and design
• Planning and undertaking detailed site investigations
• CPEng or short term goal of working towards CPEng accreditation
