Job summary

Optimal is seeking a Senior Product Engineer to join a cross-functional team building the next generation of user research tools. You will own features end-to-end from concept to delivery, collaborating with product, design and tech leads to ship high-impact experiences.

You’ll work across the stack (React, Ruby on Rails, AWS) on scalable research capabilities, mentor teammates, and shape architecture while iterating rapidly based on real-world usage.

Qualifications

• Senior, hands-on full-stack engineering experience delivering product across the stack (frontend and backend)
• Strong product sense with focus on user outcomes and rationale behind design decisions
• Excellent frontend engineering with React and UI considerations
• Leadership, ownership and mentoring of teammates in a cross-functional setting
• Interest in integrating AI tools into user-facing products and shaping intelligent features

Responsibilities

• Lead projects end-to-end from idea to delivery with input from product and design
• Shape project architecture and deliverables with a strong technical direction
• Design, build, and ship new research features that improve user workflow
• Collaborate across React frontend, Rails backend, and AWS services
• Mentor peers and raise the standard of craft
• Iterate rapidly based on real-world usage and feedback
