Job summary

Xero seeks a Senior Full Stack Engineer to bridge technical initiatives across our Reporting Platform, modernise legacy frameworks, and elevate engineering maturity for high-scale systems.

You will allocate roughly 50% to hands-on coding and 50% to strategic work, including technical discovery, incident management, and long-term roadmap planning. Remote-friendly across New Zealand, with a focus on collaboration and delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience operating in high-volume, high-transaction environments ( fintech, banking, major SaaS, or medtech ).
• Experience or strong familiarity with full-stack development, particularly .NET/C#, React, and SQL.
• Strong communication and ownership with a builder mindset for end-to-end deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on Delivery & Architecture for Product Features in Reporting: Lead technical design and implementation across complex systems.
• Modernize Legacy Systems: Guide development to modernize legacy .NET frameworks and safely roll out updates at scale.
• Drive AI Integration: Embed AI into reporting products and SDLC to improve developer experience.
• Incident Management & Quality: Lead incident response, participate in on-call, and establish robust testing and CD strategies.
• Team Leadership & Mentorship: Coach engineers, drive multi-quarter planning, foster inclusive culture.
