Tribe Recruitment – Auckland, North Island
Auxo builds software that keeps the automotive industry moving. Behind busy workshops, dealerships, fleets and parts retailers, Auxo supports the day-to-day workflows that have to work properly: quoting, job management, invoicing, parts, payments, and all the detail that helps customers get on with the work that matters. Auxo is majority owned by the Motor Trade Association (MTA), has been in the industry for 30+ years, and is now scaling its cloud platform (Auxo Workshop) across Australia. It’s an established NZ SaaS with real momentum and a product people use all day.
They’re hiring a Senior Software Engineer (Front End) to work closely with the Front End Lead. This role is frontend-weighted by design. Most customer value is delivered through UI: the web app is where workshops plan and run their day, and the React Native mobile app is where technicians do the work, often on a workshop floor with patchy connectivity and time pressure. Craft matters here: performance, reliability, usability, and design decisions that keep the product easy to evolve.
You’ll still deliver end to end, including contributing into the .NET / C# backend when needed, so changes land as complete, production-ready increments rather than a handoff between specialists.
Culture fit is important. Auxo is a lean, collaborative engineering team and they do best with people who are practical and friendly, take ownership, are strong but kind in review (they value "disagreeing well"), communicate proactively, and care about customers and outcomes.
Auxo is also growing its AI capability over time. AI tools already sit naturally in the day-to-day, with a simple expectation: use AI to move faster, but keep the quality bar high through good engineering judgement, security awareness, and solid testing. If you enjoy experimenting, sharing what works, and helping a team level up in a practical way, you’ll fit well.
