Job summary

The Department of Internal Affairs is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to strengthen the financial control environment across the organisation. You will oversee balance sheet integrity, ensure reconciliations are completed and cleared, and identify and resolve financial risks and issues.

You will provide technical financial advice, support accurate reporting, and help strengthen processes, controls, and financial systems through collaboration with senior stakeholders.

• Sound knowledge of financial reporting, GAAP and public sector financial management requirements

As Senior Financial Accountant, you’ll play a key role in maintaining a strong financial control environment across the Department. You’ll oversee the integrity of the balance sheet, ensure reconciliations are completed and cleared, and identify and resolve financial risks and issues.

You’ll also provide technical financial advice, support accurate financial reporting and help strengthen financial processes and systems. Working across Finance and with senior stakeholders, you’ll use your expertise to provide trusted advice, improve financial controls and support sound decision-making.

The salary range for this roleis$111,458 - $138,704, with appointments likely to be made at the midpoint of $123,842.
