About the opportunity

Are you passionate about agriculture and eager to work in broadacre cropping? We have multiple opportunities for motivated individuals with a minimum of 2 years broadacre cropping experience to join teams in Central Queensland. Located on properties near Rolleston and Springsure, these roles offer the perfect next step for those looking to deepen their expertise in irrigated and dryland cropping, with a particular focus on cotton.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Farm Manager, you will take on a hands-on role across all aspects of our farming operations, gaining valuable experience in:

  • Crop Establishment: preparing beds, fertilising, sowing, and cultivating to set up strong crop foundations
  • Crop Management: applying herbicides and pesticides to support optimal growth and yield
  • Machinery Operation: operating air seeders, precision planters, self-propelled sprayers, and other essential equipment
  • Farm Maintenance: conducting fencing, repairs, and general upkeep to maintain a well-functioning farm environment
  • Safety Standards: prioritising health and safety in tasks to ensure a safe working environment for all

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

  • Experience: ideally, 2 years or more in a broadacre cropping role including operation of machinery
  • Physical Fitness: prepared for the active, hands-on nature of the work
  • Driver’s Licence: essential for daily operations
  • Positive Attitude: a team-oriented, proactive mindset
  • Flexibility: willingness to work varying hours, including weekends to meet operational needs

  • Competitive Compensation: above-award hourly rates for full-time roles, with overtime opportunities. Casual roles are paid per the Pastoral Award
