Job summary

Government Communications Security Bureau NZ in Wellington is seeking a Senior Enterprise Information Security Advisor to drive security across the GCSB and NZSIS. You will lead engagements, embed security into enterprise activities, and help safeguard critical information assets.

You will partner with business and technology teams to improve security maturity, enable adoption of new technologies, and scale our information security services across the enterprise within the evolving regulatory

The Enterprise Information Security Group (EISG),a partoftheNCSC, helps protect some of New Zealand's most unique and sensitive information assets. Delivering information security strategy, programme and services to the GCSB and NZSIS (the enterprise), we work to ensure information security enables mission outcomes.

About the role

You will drive continuous improvement of information security initiatives across the GCSB and NZSIS, ensuring risks are understood, communicated and managed effectively to support mission outcomes.

You will provide trusted advice through partnership with business, security and technology stakeholders to embed information security into enterprise activities, and support informed decision-making aligned to our strategic and regulatory landscape.

How you will make an impact

• Leadcomplex engagements:Lead risk assessment and advisory engagements,providingtrusted advice that builds stakeholder confidence and enables effective decision-making.
• Partner with stakeholders:Partner with business and technology teams to improve security maturity and enable safe adoption ofnew technologiesand services.
• Integrate &scale:Support integration,automationand continuous assurance initiatives to improve and scale our information security services.
• Build alliances:Collaborate with other areas of the NCSC and international partners to share insights and strengthen collective outcomes.

About you

We're interested in the skills, thinking and experience you bring, not just the job titles you've held.

You may come from an information security or cyber background, or you may have built your expertise in risk management, technology delivery, or business analysis.

What matters most is your ability to understand and communicate complex problems, design practical and effective solutions, and build trusted relationships to influence effectively both up and across the enterprise.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• Ability to work throughcomplex problems anddeveloppracticalsolutions.
• Excellent communication skills in all forms.

The appointing salary range for this role is $120,359 - $128,383.

Before you apply

Working within our unique environment means we have to ensure you're eligible for employment.

You must:

• Have been a New Zealand Citizen for at least 10 years

OR

Hold a current NZ Residency Class Visa and ideally have been a citizen of the UK, USA, Canada or Australia for at least 10 years

• Be eligible to obtain a Top Secret Special (TSS) security clearance
  • Ordinarily, this means you'll have a 15 year checkable background in countries NZSIS Vetting can make meaningful and reliable checks.
