Job summary

Tiaki Wai is recruiting a senior engineer to solve complex 3-waters network challenges across the Wellington region. You will lead investigations across wastewater, stormwater and drinking water systems and provide technical support from concept to commissioning, working 40 hours a week from our Petone office near the train station, cafes and the beach.

The role offers the opportunity to mentor graduates, support capital programmes and investment planning, with a focus on reliability

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering (Civil preferred) or equivalent.
• CPEng highly desired.
• Experience in wastewater, stormwater or drinking water networks.
• Strong investigative and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent relationship and communication skills.

This is a full-time position of 40 hours per week, based in our Petone office near the train station, cafes and the beach

The remuneration midpoint for this role is $131,903.99 p.a. (including KiwiSaver) depending on skills and experience.

The opportunity

We are currently recruiting for an additional senior engineer! This role is suited to a technical professional with experience in 3-waters networks. It offers an opportunity to make a difference through optimising 3-waters systems across the Wellington Region. You will take the lead on strategic planning and delivering network investigations that will ultimately lead to improved reliability of 3-waters infrastructure for the community.

With a strong emphasis on collaboration this role will also see you:

• Involved in tactical planning across the region’s 3-waters networks
• Mentor and develop graduate and intermediate engineers
• Provide technical support for the capital program and investment planning

About You

• A relevant tertiary qualification such as a Bachelor of Engineering (preferably Civil Engineering). CPEng highly desired.
• Strong technical knowledge in wastewater, stormwater and/or drinking water networks
• Sharp investigative skills with a solutions focus
• Excellent relationship management skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
