Job summary

Babcock Power is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to perform analyses, design and calculations, lead project work, and prepare task-based estimates for proposals and projects.

You will plan and participate in client meetings, ensure compliance with NFPA/NEC, UL, IEEE, and ISO procedures, and collaborate with vendors and the project team to deliver successful outcomes. Requires a Bachelor's in electrical engineering, 8+ years in control and electrical systems, and a PE license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related discipline.
• 8+ years of experience in control systems and electrical design/startup in an industrial plant environment.
• Professional Engineering License.
• Knowledge of NFPA/NEC, UL, IEEE, ISA, IEC and other electrical codes and standards.
• Experience with power distribution software such as ETAP or SKM.
• AutoCAD experience to develop electrical schematic and single line drawings.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Excellent analytical and computer skills (Word, Excel, databases).

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical engineering, design, and calculations for projects.
• Develop electrical proposal strategy for retrofit projects; review client specifications.
• Provide complete labor hours and material estimates for projects.
• Participate in project team and client meetings.
• Monitor the work product of vendors and manage deviations.
• Identify or develop tools and techniques to improve accuracy and efficiency.
• Follow all ISO Procedures and Work Instructions.
• Collaborate with project management, customers and vendors to ensure successful outcomes.
• Plan, specify, design and oversee the engineering of electrical systems for proposals and projects.
