The Ministry of Education in Northland is seeking a Senior Education Advisor focused on student support. This role is pivotal in ensuring that children and young people can access appropriate educational pathways. The ideal candidate will leverage local insights and data to promote successful learning outcomes and will excel in building relationships within the education framework. A relevant qualification and experience in data analysis and communication are essential.

This role has a specific focus on supporting children and young people to access an education that meets their needs and supports the re-engagement of children and young people in their learning pathway. The senior education advisor (student support) will use data, and local knowledge and relationships to identify priorities and influence change to maximise education outcomes for ākonga.
Young people at risk of not achieving need innovative education solutions that meet their learning needs. This role requires close working relationships and an understanding of education, including alternative education, activity centres, attendance services, and local tailor-made services to develop a learning pathway that is sustainable for the most challenging students.
The successful applicant will demonstrate that they can quickly establish strong relationships of purpose and high credibility with the education sector, alongside other government departments and Non-Government Organisations.
