Job summary

Kumaravine - Celebrating Māori & Pasifika success is seeking a Senior Education Advisor to work with tumuaki, school leaders and Boards of Trustees to boost educational outcomes in Te Tai Tokerau. You will join the Ministry of Education’s regional team and apply data to design school projects that improve achievement.

The role requires a relevant qualification or equivalent experience, strong data skills, and the ability to build relationships across communities and the Ministry.

Qualifications

• A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent level of practical experience.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to work with student achievement data to determine needs and priorities.
• Experience in developing and implementing projects.
• An ability to develop strong working relationships both within and outside the Ministry.
• Understanding of education systems in New Zealand and relevant education legislation.
• An understanding of te reo Māori and tikanga.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with tumuaki, senior school leaders and Boards of Trustees to strengthen educational performance.
• Ensure sector leaders and communities have access to expertise, programmes and resources to help students reach their potential.
• Use evidence and data on student achievement to design and implement projects with schools.
• Collaborate across the Ministry’s regional team to support schooling improvement and learner outcomes.
