Job summary

Jacobs in New Zealand is seeking a Senior or Associate Earthing Engineer to join our multidisciplinary consultancy. Based in one of our NZ offices, you’ll deliver earthing studies across critical infrastructure projects and collaborate with global delivery teams.

You’ll use CDEGS and PSCAD, contribute to technical reviews, and support bids while mentoring junior engineers. The role includes fieldwork, site testing, and building strong client relationships across ANZ and beyond.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience delivering earthing studies across substations, transmission, rail, water, mining, airports, and other critical infrastructure.
• Proficiency with CDEGS and PSCAD.
• Strong technical report writing, communication and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

• Deliver earthing studies and design including Earthing & Bonding, EPR, EMI, and related analyses.
• Lead technical deliverables and contribute to QA and technical excellence.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers and support bids with Client Account Managers.
• Undertake site inspections and testing (soil resistivity, current injection, EMF/EMI).
• Build strong client relationships across public and private sectors.
