Job summary

Talent International in Auckland is seeking a Senior DevSecOps Engineer to drive security and quality improvements across NZ technology teams. This hands-on, leadership‑oriented role requires embedding controls across CI/CD and SDLC, with strong influence across multiple disciplines.

You will assess current environments, identify gaps, and implement practical improvements within a six‑month contract, delivering measurable uplift and working closely with senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Senior DevSecOps experience in a complex enterprise environment.
• Strong hands-on DevSecOps with CI/CD design and optimisation.
• Proven ability to turn technical findings into practical improvements.

Responsibilities

• Assess the current DevSecOps and software delivery environment.
• Review and optimise existing CI/CD pipelines and engineering processes.
• Identify gaps across source control, application security, code quality and release controls.
• Develop a practical improvement roadmap and implement quick wins.
• Embed security and quality controls earlier in the SDLC.
• Reduce late-stage defects, release issues and production incidents.
• Drive consistent engineering and DevSecOps practices across multiple teams.
• Work with engineering, testing, platform, delivery, release and environment-management teams.
• Influence stakeholders and encourage teams to adopt improved ways of working.
• Provide clear plans, recommendations and progress reporting to senior leaders.
• Explore how AI-assisted development can improve delivery speed, security and quality.
