Salary: $94,499 - $117,598

We are looking for an experience Senior Designer to join our busy Communications team and lead the visual design direction of the Department of Internal Affairs Te Tari Taiwhenua.

This is fixed term role until 25 September 2026, based in Wellington. You will be responsible for:

  • developing a deep understanding and knowledge of the department, its priorities and needs
  • advising on, developing, delivering and measuring high quality, innovative and engaging visual communications
  • ensuring compliance with DIA and all of government guides, requirements, standards and legislation
  • developing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and suppliers
  • protecting and safeguarding our suite of brands.

The Communications team is part of the Enterprise Services Nuku Toiere branch, which is responsible for delivering strategic and operational functions that support the organisation at an enterprise level.
