Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Data Scientist for a fully remote fintech product team. You will leverage large-scale datasets to build predictive models and deliver actionable insights for a global customer base.

The role demands a PhD or MSc in a quantitative field, 7+ years in data science within financial services, and deep Python or R expertise with libraries such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch and Pandas.

Qualifications

• PhD or MSc in a quantitative field such as CS, stats, math, physics, or related.
• 7+ years of professional data science experience in fintech or financial services.
• Proficiency in Python or R and data science libraries (scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Pandas).

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy ML models for fraud detection, risk, segmentation, and algo trading.
• Clean, transform, and analyze large financial datasets.
• Design and run A/B tests to evaluate models and features.
• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and data scientists to define requirements.
• Communicate findings with visualizations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Stay updated on ML/AI research and best practices.
• Contribute to data science infra and best practices.
• Mentor junior data scientists and grow the team.
• Identify opportunities to leverage data to drive business value.
