Senior Data Engineer - AI and Data

As an AI & Data Engineer at the manager rank, you will design, build, and implement scalable data solutions to support our clients to realise value from their data investments. You will be responsible for leading a small team of data engineers, business analysts and testers to deliver the solution and provide technical leadership to them.

Integral to our AI & Data team, you will provide continuous process improvement and identify innovative solutions through research and analysis, insight and experience of leading practices. Further responsibilities may include:

  • Building and enhancing data pipelines and storage so that data is clean, accurate, and optimised for consumption
  • Engage with client technical teams and architects so that your proposed design is understood and endorsed to proceed
  • Work with other data and analytics professionals and teams to industrialise analysis into an analytics solution
  • Apply depth of expertise to guide mor junior staff to recommend quality solutions

In line with client requirements people need to be based in Auckland or Wellington.

Our roles can potentially be adjusted to work flexibly with reduced hours. Please speak with us about potential options.

Ideally, you’ll have the skills and attributes below but don’t worry if you don’t tick all the boxes. We’re interested in your aptitude, attitude and willingness to learn.

  • Strong knowledge of the concepts, techniques, and methodologies of delivering scalable data solutions including data ingestion, storage, modelling and engineering
  • Experience in tools and methodologies that underpin and support a complete software delivery lifecycle
  • Experience in mentoring and leading teams to be productive in delivery to client expectations, while being mindful of their personal objectives and wellbeing
  • Ability to learn quickly, based on a solid base of foundational knowledge of how data solutions are successfully implemented and delivered
  • A desire to communicate and deliver solutions in a client centric way that support their business outcomes
