Mō te tūranga | About the Role

The Transaction Data Product (TDP) Service is an integral part of the Technology Engineering team under the DPAI service. TDP’s mission is to deliver top-notch data products that serve as the ultimate provider for all WNZL transactions to our consumers. We're a dynamic group of skilled professionals who thrive on collaboration and innovation.

This role will involve data engineering duties, technical and domain expertise to both users and IT employees, covering all aspects of the design, build, maintain, configuration, testing and enhancement.

Nā tāu rourou | What will you bring?

  • 10+ years experience with Java language.
  • Experience on Software / Application Development principles, lifecycle, models and application development concepts.
  • Able to review and recommend new development techniques and vendor products and make recommendations on the acquisition of advanced technology.
  • Validate functionality and performance of new development projects within the corresponding application system.
  • Kafka, Java/Scala, JVM, Python, Git, Virtualisation expertise
  • Virtualisation especially AWS / Cloud
  • Diagnose and solve technical issued that may arise during the application life cycle.
  • Participate in projects and planning sessions as required.
  • Applies effective Quality Assurance and process improvement activities.
  • Tertiary level qualifications in Computer Science, Business or an associated discipline.
  • Certification for relevant technical and management disciplines.
  • Able to manage and develop teams.
  • Experience in building working relationships with suppliers.
