Job summary

OSPRI in Wellington seeks a Senior Data Analyst to produce high-quality analysis, reports, dashboards and metrics enabling informed decision-making. You’ll work in a modern data platform using Azure Databricks, Python and R to deliver actionable insights.

You will own data pipelines and apps, act as a subject matter expert, mentor others and drive data quality and governance across datasets to support critical farming and biosecurity decisions.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience building data pipelines and data apps within cloud-based platforms.
• Proficiency with Python, R or SQL and ability to translate technical information for non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of complex analyses, reports, dashboards and metrics to support high-quality decision-making across OSPRI.
• Build and maintain data pipelines and data apps within OSPRI’s data platform.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on projects and programmes, providing technical guidance.
• Mentor Data Analysts to lift analytical and technical capability.
• Partner with business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver fit-for-purpose information products.
• Lead ongoing improvements of data platforms, tools and processes.
• Demonstrate the organisation's values in daily work.
