We’re looking for experienced professionals - Senior Consultants and Managers - who are passionate about driving transformation and delivering impact. If you have 3+ years of experience and are ready to take the next step in your career, this is your opportunity to join EY’s Business Transformation team.

As a valued member of our team, you’ll help deliver some of New Zealand’s most complex and high-impact programs. From unlocking operational efficiencies to enabling strategic reform, you’ll work closely with government clients to solve real-world challenges and create lasting value.

This is a hybrid position and is based in our Te Whanganui-a-Tara (Wellington) office. To be eligible for this role, you must be a New Zealand Citizen.

Your key responsibilities

You can expect a diverse range of responsibilities that allow you to make a meaningful difference.

At Senior Consultant level you will be responsible for:

  • Working as a team in the successful delivery of business transformation projects across various areas, including:
  • Large programme planning and execution
  • Operating model design
  • Strategic cost transformation and operational efficiency
  • Process optimisation and ways of working
  • Business case development

At Manager level you will be responsible for the above, and:

  • Oversee complex transformation programs spanning the entire lifecycle - from strategy through design and into implementation.
  • Drive business development and account management activities, including pursuits, proposals, and managing key client relationships.
Skills and attributes for success
  • As a Senior Consultant, you will have a minimum of 3 years' relevant experience.
  • As a Manager, you will have at least 6 years' relevant experience.
  • Proven experience leading and delivering business transformation projects and programs end-to-end
  • Experience working within government departments.
  • Government or consulting experience.
  • Strong capabilities in business case development, financial modelling, and/or program delivery.
  • Clear written communication and strategic thinking.
  • Experience working on complex public sector initiatives or programs.

Ideally, you’ll also have the skills and attributes below but don’t worry if you don’t tick all the boxes. We’re interested in your aptitude, attitude and willingness to learn.

  • A structured approach to critical problem-solving.
  • Understanding of machinery of government.
  • The ability to work in a team to leverage insights for strategic decision-making.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex technical and business concepts clearly and confidently to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Client-centric approach: Focus on delivering value to clients through tailored solutions and exceptional service delivery
  • Project Management: Understanding of project delivery. Delivery experience, as a project team member, would be highly valuable
