Job summary

Stellar Recruitment is seeking an experienced Senior Legal Counsel for a broad in-house role in New Zealand. You will be a true commercial partner, shaping decisions, managing risk and delivering practical solutions to complex issues.

The role covers commercial contracting, consumer and privacy matters, with autonomy to influence outcomes. Flexible location across NZ offices or remote, with some travel.

Qualifications

• NZ admitted lawyer with at least 7 years' PQE and substantial commercial legal experience.
• Experience in consumer and privacy matters is advantageous.
• In-house or private practice background with ability to influence senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Advise senior stakeholders on commercial and legal risk
• Lead complex commercial contract negotiations
• Provide advice on consumer and privacy matters
• Support strategic business initiatives and projects
• Identify practical solutions to complex legal issues
• Manage external legal advisers where required
• Build strong relationships across the organisation
