We are looking for an experienced Senior Psychologist to join our Wellington team. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary rehabilitation environment, supporting clients experiencing a range of psychological challenges following injury or illness.

As a Senior Psychologist, you will manage a diverse clinical caseload across ACC-funded rehabilitation services while working alongside physiotherapists, occupational therapists, exercise physiologists, rehabilitation consultants, and other allied health professionals to deliver meaningful outcomes for clients. You will also have the opportunity to contribute your expertise across a range of contracts, provide clinical guidance, and support the ongoing development of psychological services.

The role

As a Senior Clinical Psychologist with us, you’ll have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference every day. You’ll provide high-quality, evidence-based psychological support to clients experiencing a range of psychological and psychosocial challenges, helping them move towards recovery and long-term wellbeing. You’ll manage your own caseload with autonomy, backed by a supportive and experienced team that values collaboration and shared learning. Our psychologists work across a variety of ACC and rehabilitation contracts, delivering assessments, recommendations, and interventions that genuinely change lives.

A day in the life
  • Deliver comprehensive psychological assessments, recommendations, and interventions to support client rehabilitation
  • Provide evidence-based interventions tailored to cognitive, behavioural and emotional recovery
  • Complete detailed medico-legal and rehabilitation reports for ACC and key stakeholders
  • Contribute to multidisciplinary case conferences and integrated rehabilitation planning
  • Work autonomously while being well-supported by senior clinicians and clinical governance structures
  • Provide supervision, triage referrals, and contribute to service development and quality initiatives
  • This role may involve clinic-based work as well as community visits (home/workplace), offering variety and real-world impact
  • Support service development, quality improvement initiatives, and clinical excellence within the wider psychology team.
What you'll bring
  • A recognised postgraduate qualification in Psychology (MA/MSc/PGDip/DClin or equivalent)
  • Registration with the New Zealand Psychologists Board and a current APC
  • Membership of a relevant professional body (NZCCP or NZ Psychological Society)
  • A client-centred, outcomes-focused approach
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment
  • Full NZ driver's licence
  • 5+ years of relevant clinical experience
  • Ideally you will have experience of ACC contracts

We genuinely invest in our people. We know that when our clinicians feel supported, valued, and balanced, our clients benefit too.
