Carrick Winery is seeking a passionate Senior Cellar Door Host / Manager to lead our new cellar door and deliver exceptional guest experiences in the heart of Central Otago wine country.

Set on the stunning shores of the Bannockburn Inlet, Carrick is known for its certified organic wines, warm hospitality and breathtaking views. This is a rare opportunity to take the reins of a brand new cellar door operation and be part of a close-knit team committed to quality and sustainability. Whether you are a seasoned professional or cellar door host / sommelier looking to take the next step, we have a skilled team ready to support you in this exciting role.

We also have a Summer Wine Ambassador / Sommelier role available.

Key Responsibilities
  • Refine our Cellar Door experiences across our Cellar Door, Waikana Room, Glasshouse, Private Cabanas, Restaurant and Carrick Garden.
  • Manage and train Cellar Door staff, fostering a culture of excellence and teamwork.
  • Lead daily operations delivering engaging wine tastings and experiences.
  • Manage accurate inventory and POS systems
  • Coordinate with the Events & Experience Manager for group bookings and private tastings
Skills & Experience
  • Strong knowledge of wine, preferably with WSET or equivalent certification
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Leadership experience with a hands-on, customer-focused approach
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with POS systems and basic reporting tools
  • Passion for sustainability and local produce is a plus
  • Weekend/public holiday availability
