About the role - Mō te tūranga

In this pivotal role, you’ll be responsible for identifying, securing, and expanding strategically important customers, managing high value bids and tenders, and leading complex negotiations at the executive level.

You’ll also play a critical role in:

  • Shaping market strategy – developing and executing growth plans to penetrate new markets and expand share.
  • Driving commercial excellence – using analytics, CRM insights, and innovative pricing to maximise conversion and revenue.
  • Embedding best practice – uplifting sales processes, pipeline management, and reporting across the business.
  • Collaborating cross-functionally – working with operations, finance, commercial and IT to deliver seamless, value-driven customer solutions.
  • Mentoring future talent – guiding and developing our sales team to raise capability nationally.

  • 10+ years’ experience in transport, logistics, or supply chain, with proven success in national business development.
  • Exceptional negotiation skills and the ability to influence at C-suite and Board level.
  • Strategic thinking and strong commercial acumen, with advanced data and financial modelling skills.
  • Demonstrated success in winning and growing major accounts through long sales cycles.
  • Resilience, adaptability, and drive to succeed in a competitive market.
  • CRM experience, Salesforce desirable.
