We are seeking a Senior Business Data Analyst to join our Property Performance Improvement & Quality (PIQ) team at the Ministry of Justice.
In this role, you will lead the design and co-delivery of key improvement initiatives, including the development of enhanced business processes and the creation of new systems or datasets. You will also play an integral part in supporting ongoing operations—leveraging data and insights to provide robust analysis, assurance, and advice aimed at boosting the overall performance of the Property function.
You will have strategic mindset, a people-centred approach, and the ability to influence outcomes across a complex programme of work. This is a highly collaborative position that extends beyond the office—engaging with stakeholders across the Property team and the wider Ministry. You will bring clarity to business requirements from both process and systems perspectives, driving meaningful improvements through data-informed decision-making.

The PIQ team partners closely with Property leadership and operational groups to support effective planning, management, and decision-making across a diverse and high-impact portfolio of work. This includes major infrastructure projects and programmes delivering significant business change.
The Property team provides strategic leadership in shaping and delivering the Ministry's property strategy. Our responsibilities span asset and facilities management, commercial leasing, the delivery of property projects, and oversight of support services at both National Office and the Christchurch Justice and Emergency Services Precinct. We are committed to modernising our services while safeguarding the integrity of our historic buildings—ensuring that all property assets are fit for purpose, supporting both our people and the communities we serve.

The appointing salary for this role will be between $111,766 and $154,680 based on skills and experience.
