Job description

Copain is a French bakery located at 55 Mackelvie St, Ponsonby, Auckland. We are open 7 days a week and are currently seeking a full-time Senior Baker to join our team.

Senior Baker Role

  • We are looking for a skilled and experienced Senior Baker with at least 2 years of experience in artisan bakeries. A baker's qualification is preferred, along with experience in artisan breads, viennoiserie, or pastries (e.g., croissants, pain au chocolat).
  • This is a permanent full-time position, with a minimum of 35 hours per week and up to 60 hours during busy periods. Typically, hours will be between 40-45 hours per week, spread over 5 shifts, with 2 consecutive days off. Shifts start between 1am and 3am and end between 9am and 11am.
  • Salary will be based on experience, ranging from $30 to $33 per hour gross.
  • Responsibilities include moulding and shaping dough, mixing, baking breads, laminating viennoiserie, and general food preparation.
  • You will assist the Head Baker with mentoring and training junior bakers and manage the kitchen in the absence of the Head Baker.
  • We seek individuals committed to producing quality products.
