Job summary

Westpac New Zealand is seeking a dedicated automation/quality engineering specialist to design, develop, maintain and execute automated test solutions across the WNZL landscape using Java, JavaScript, Python and modern tools.

You will mentor peers, review requirements, promote best practices, and contribute to CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins/Azure DevOps and Playwright. Experience in UI and API testing with Selenium and RestAssured is valued.

Qualifications

• Proficient in programming with Java, JavaScript and Python.
• Experience in UI and API automation testing using Selenium and RestSharp/RestAssured.
• Familiar with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Azure DevOps).
• Experience with Playwright and automated testing strategies.
• Background coaching/mentoring test engineers in Agile/DevOps teams.

Responsibilities

• Oversee delivery of automation/functional testing across the WNZL landscape.
• Design, develop, maintain and execute automated test solutions.
• Review requirements and participate in workshops to design test scenarios.
• Mentor peers and promote best practices in quality engineering.
• Lead demonstrations and share knowledge across the team.
