Job summary

PwC New Zealand is seeking an Audit Senior Associate to join our Hamilton Assurance team, delivering high-quality external audits from planning to completion. You’ll oversee engagements, liaise with clients, and work closely with senior leaders across PwC’s national and global network.

The role requires a strong foundation in audit, IFRS knowledge, and experience coaching junior staff. We value initiative, collaboration, and the ability to manage multiple engagements in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of external audit experience, preferably in a large or internationally recognised professional services environment.
• Experience contributing to or leading end-to-end external audit engagements.
• A recognised professional accounting qualification such as CAANZ, CPA, ACCA, ICAEW or equivalent, or progression towards completion.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting standards.
• Experience coaching, supervising or reviewing junior team members.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead key areas of external audit engagements from planning through to completion.
• Work directly with clients to understand their business, risks and financial information.
• Apply sound judgement to complex issues and find practical solutions.
• Review internal controls and audit evidence in line with PwC methodology and standards.
• Coach and review graduates and junior team members.
