James & Wells in Auckland or Hamilton is seeking a Commercial Litigation Lawyer at 1 year PQE up to Senior Associate level to join the Litigation & Commercial team. The role offers exposure to a broad range of disputes, including intellectual property and technology law, with direct client contact and cross‑NZ/ Australia collaboration.

Qualifications

• Be qualified to practise law in New Zealand
• Experience in litigation, dispute resolution or contentious commercial matters is desirable
• Be able to provide practical and commercially focused legal advice

Responsibilities

• Advise on a broad range of commercial disputes and IP-related matters
• Work directly with clients across NZ and Australia
• Collaborate with a trans-Tasman team to deliver high‑quality outcomes
• Draft, negotiate and advise on commercial agreements and strategies
