Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is seeking an Associate Charge Nurse Manager to support the Charge Nurse Manager in establishing clinical nursing standards and providing leadership across Ward 3, the Acute Frailty Unit. This role involves rostering, managing safe staffing, addressing crises, staff education, and promoting patient-centered care.

You will contribute to quality initiatives and work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to deliver excellence in care.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with APC and scope appropriate to place of work.
• Postgraduate Certificate desired, with progression toward Postgraduate Diploma.
• Hold a current PDRP portfolio and commitment to ongoing senior practice.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership and maintain nursing professional standards.
• Assist in establishing policies, audits and guidelines for safe patient care.
• Create monthly rosters and manage safe staffing within the unit.
• Lead in quality initiatives and manage day-to-day ward operations.
• Address crises such as short-staffing and care for acutely unwell patients.
• Support staff education and development (PDRP).
