Placements24 is seeking a Senior Architectural Technologist for our client in Queenstown. The role focuses on bridging design concepts with constructability, emphasizing sustainable and energy-efficient design. You will produce detailed drawings, specs, and ensure regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate has 7–10 years post-qualification experience, expert BIM (Revit) skills, and strong knowledge of SA building codes. Hybrid work model offered in the Eastern Cape region.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in architectural technology.
• Registration with SAIA or similar body is essential.
• 7–10 years post-qualification experience as an Architectural Technologist.
• Experience developing technical documentation for diverse building typologies.
• Proficient in BIM software (Revit essential), AutoCAD, and related tools.
• Strong knowledge of sustainable building design and green technologies.
• Familiarity with SA building codes and local construction methods.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical design and documentation for building projects with a focus on sustainability.
• Develop detailed construction drawings, plans, sections, elevations, and specifications using BIM software.
• Ensure designs comply with NBR, SANS, and local by-laws in the Eastern Cape.
• Integrate sustainable design strategies, materials and technologies into project docs.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors and clients to deliver projects.
• Conduct site inspections and provide technical support during construction.
• Prepare documentation for regulatory approvals and certifications (e.g., EDGE, Green Star SA).

You will be responsible for producing detailed technical drawings, specifications, and ensuring that projects meet high environmental standards and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate effectively with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients to ensure successful project delivery.
• Conduct site inspections and provide technical support during the construction phase in Queenstown .

Requirements

• National Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Architectural Technology or a related field.
• Professional registration with SAIAT or a similar professional body is essential.
• A minimum of 7-10 years of post-qualification experience as an Architectural Technologist.
• Significant experience in developing technical documentation for diverse building typologies.
• Expertise in BIM software (Revit is essential), AutoCAD, and other relevant architectural software.
