Job summary

Randstad Group in Auckland seeks a Senior Analytics Engineer / BI Consultant to manage end-to-end data delivery for a leading data solutions practice. The role is hands-on, translating business requirements into scalable analytics solutions while engaging stakeholders to design data models and implement modern cloud platforms.

You will work on ingestion and presentation layers for enterprise BI, ensuring delivery quality with version control and CI/CD.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience delivering data and analytics solutions.
• Hands-on with enterprise data platforms, Snowflake and dbt.
• Experience designing dimensional models (Kimball-style) and modern ELT frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Solution Design: design and implement conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
• Data Transformation: build and maintain scalable dbt models and Snowflake schemas.
• Stakeholder Engagement: run discovery workshops, document specs, manage executive expectations.
• Platform Development: develop ingestion and presentation layers for enterprise reporting.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Analytics Engineer / BI Consultant to manage end-to-end data delivery for a leading data solutions consultancy in Auckland. This hands‑on consulting role involves translating business requirements into scalable analytics solutions. You will engage with stakeholders to design conceptual and physical data models, while remaining actively involved in technical implementation using modern cloud data platforms.

Key Duties

• Solution Design: Design and implement conceptual, logical, and physical data models aligned with business requirements.
• Data Transformation: Build and maintain scalable dbt models, Snowflake schemas, and analytical transformation pipelines.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Run requirements discovery workshops, document specifications, and manage executive‑level business expectations.
• Platform Development: Develop ingestion and presentation layers supporting enterprise reporting and BI platforms.
• Technical Quality: Provide practical delivery oversight and apply software engineering best practices, including version control and CI/CD processes.

Skills & Experience Required

• Experienced Professional: Proven track record in deploying data and analytics solutions, alongside hands‑on expertise overseeing enterprise data platforms and data warehouses.
• Technical Stack: Advanced SQL development skills combined with extensive hands‑on experience using Snowflake and dbt.
• Data Architecture: Practical experience implementing dimensional models (Kimball‑style), data vault models, and modern ELT frameworks.
• Stakeholder Management: Effective consulting and communication skills to engage both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Analytical Mindset: Pragmatic approach to problem‑solving, data quality, and enterprise governance.
