Job summary

Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) is seeking a Senior Adviser to join the Costing and Modelling team in Wellington. You will develop financial models to inform cost recovery decisions, analyse cost drivers, and provide expert advice across MPI functions on cost recovery matters.

This role emphasizes collaboration with internal stakeholders and ensuring models stay current with legislation and treasury guidance.

Qualifications

• At least five years of relevant experience identifying cost-effective solutions to business risks and providing risk analysis to complex areas.
• Exceptional Microsoft Excel and data modelling skills; ability to manage data efficiently and accurately.
• A passion for transforming data into insights to support decision making.
• Highly professional with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in managing internally focused relationships and consultative processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop financial models to assist with cost recovery.
• Delve into data to understand costs incurred by various businesses.
• Provide expert advice on cost recovery matters across MPI functions.
• Maintain oversight of cost and revenue models to ensure currency and fitness for purpose.
