What You’ll Be Doing
As a member of the Senior Management Group, you will be responsible for all Finance Department objectives. Requirements include managing key relationships and reporting requirements that influence the AFD business and our customers. You will oversee the implementation and enhancement of financial reporting that aligns with regulatory requirements and best practices.
This position requires an understanding of financial regulations and an ability to translate complex compliance requirements into actionable strategies that support the organisation’s objectives. You will also support cross-functional initiatives to optimise processes, enhance financial capabilities, and improve customer experience.
As our Senior Accountant, you will deliver and contribute to AFD in the following areas:
Budgeting and Forecast Management
· Preparation of budgets and reforecasts and monthly monitoring against them
· Preparation of cashflow forecasting and monthly monitoring
· Financial modelling and analysis on strategic projects
Transaction Management
· Management of financial transactions required (i.e. banking, payments and invoicing)
· Manage company funding requirements on a daily basis
· Manage the month end processing and reconciliation
· Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual reports for internal and external stakeholders
· Provide data and reports requested by internal and external auditors
· Management of all financial reporting obligations
Risk and Compliance
· Work collaboratively to review and build on existing policies and procedures
· Ensure your department operates with and adheres to the applicable legislative requirements for your department and the company
Leadership
· Lead training and development for your department and supporting the wider AFD team
· Mentor staff at all levels to foster growth and encourage development among senior executive team and all members of staff.
· Managing and measuring team and individual performance
Company Performance
· Provide regular, accurate, timely reports to the General Manager on the financial, operational and strategic activities of the function. Reporting of department performance for Board
· Manage and monitor budgeted set key performance indicators
· Effectively manage resourcing to ensure service delivery and productivity performance are attained

What You’ll Need to Apply
- 5+ years post study experience as an accountant
- Experience with Financial Analysis and Reporting
- Excellent knowledge and experience with all office-based technology including a high level with the Microsoft suite of products.
- Knowledge of Finconnect software (an advantage, but not essential)
- CA or CPA qualification (an advantage, but not essential)

· 9 Month Maternity Contract - commencing in August 2025
