Dreamhome Group is a fast-growing residential construction company based in Newmarket. We are a team committed to exceeding customer expectations and delivering extraordinary value and results.

About the role

Due to recent expansion, we are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant - Hybrid Role to join our Finance Team. This hybrid role combines financial and management accounting, ideal for someone who wants to engage in diverse reporting tasks. You will work closely with our CFO and play a key role in the financial operations of the business, taking ownership of responsibilities including financial reporting, compliance, budgeting, and project-based accounting.

Your responsibilities

  • Lead the month-end close process and support half-year and year-end reporting.
  • Prepare annual budgets and monitor costs across departments and projects.
  • Present financial reports and insights to Senior Management with clear analysis and explanations.
  • Maintain fixed asset registers and capital works in progress.
  • Develop comprehensive financial models, forecasts, budgets, and project-related reports, including internal finance KPIs.
  • Manage tax compliance for GST, FBT, WHT, NRWT, and provisional and annual returns.
  • Coordinate audit processes with external auditors and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications and skills

  • CA or CPA qualification (essential).
  • Experience in financial reporting (IFRS) and auditing, preferably from a large corporate, complex business, or mid-large accounting firm.
  • Experience managing fixed assets and capital works in progress; solar or infrastructure project experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Office.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a proactive, integrity-driven approach.
  • At least 5 years of post-qualification experience in a similar role (highly desirable).
  • Legal right to work in New Zealand.
  • Fluent in English and Mandarin.
