Job summary

KiwiRail in Wellington seeks a Senior SAP ABAP Developer to join the ERP and Asset Services team. You will design, develop, and support enterprise SAP solutions across a complex operational environment.

The role requires 10+ years in SAP ABAP, expertise in ABAP Objects, IDocs, BAPIs, and SAP ECC6, plus strong analytical and stakeholder skills. Collaboration in Agile/Waterfall delivery is essential, with a relevant tertiary qualification.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of SAP ABAP development in enterprise environments.
• Expertise in ABAP Objects, IDocs, BAPIs, Enhancements, SmartForms, SAPScript.
• Experience across ECC6 and modules FI-CO, MM, PM, SD, HR CATS, RE-FX.
• Knowledge of SAP security, authorisations and transport management.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement in Agile/Waterfall projects.

Position Description

We're looking for a Senior ABAP Developer - SAP to join KiwiRail's ERP and Asset Services team in Wellington.

Key responsibilities include:

• Working across SAP modules including FI-CO, MM, PM, PP, Projects, SD, HR CATS, and RE-FX

• Experience working in Agile and/or Waterfall delivery environments
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• A relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Business, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline
