Job summary

Inglewood High School in New Plymouth, NZ, is seeking a Class 5 Truck Driver for a full-time role with a minimum of 30 hours per week.

You will operate Class 5 vehicles on scheduled runs to New Plymouth, Palmertson North and Auckland, perform pre- and post-trip inspections, and maintain safe, timely deliveries. Pay ranges from $30 to $35 per hour, depending on skills and experience, with a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
• Minimum 1 year truck driving experience.
• Ability to work early morning shifts, weekends and flexible hours.
• Physical fitness to manage loads and deliveries.
• Strong time management and ability to meet deadlines.
• Good communication with customers and dispatch.
• Pre-employment drug testing and background checks.
• Flexible to work in all 3 regions.

Responsibilities

Class 5 Truck Driver

This is a full-time position based in New Plymouth, with a minimum of 30 hours of work per week.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operating Class 5 vehicles to transport goods to designated locations
• Performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections to maintain vehicle safety and compliance
• Adhering strictly to all road safety regulations and company policies
• Accurately completing delivery paperwork and logs Maintaining regular communication with dispatch for updates and instructions
• Safely and confidently reversing truck and trailer combinations in varied environments
• Handling and securing loads to prevent damage during transport

Role Requirements:

• Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
• Must be confident to reverse a truck and trailer
• A minimum of 1 year of truck driving experience is required
• Ability to work early morning shifts, weekends, and flexible hours as required
• Physical fitness to manage the demands of the role, including securing loads
• Strong time management and ability to meet delivery deadlines.
• Good communication skills with customers, dispatch, and other drivers
• Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing and criminal record reference checks.
• Flexible to work in all 3 regions.

You will be completing scheduled runs across New Plymouth, Palmertson North and Auckland.
