Job summary

Placements24 seeks a skilled Geophysicist with seismic interpretation expertise for our client in Queenstown (Eastern Cape). You will interpret seismic data to delineate hydrocarbon reservoirs, build robust geological models, and support exploration strategy with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities include AV0 analysis, risk assessment, and preparing technical reports while leveraging Petrel, Kingdom Suite, and GeoDepth. Hybrid work model offered with ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Geophysics, Geology or related Earth Science field.
• Advanced degree is preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of seismic data interpretation experience in Oil & Gas.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed 2D and 3D seismic interpretation and horizon mapping.
• Identify structures and stratigraphic features for hydrocarbon exploration.
• Integrate seismic data with well logs and cores to build geological models.
• Conduct AVO and other seismic attribute analyses.
• Assess exploration risk and contribute to prospect generation and evaluation.
• Collaborate with geologists and reservoir engineers for integrated subsurface understanding.
• Prepare interpretation reports, maps, and presentations for reviews.
• Manage and QC seismic datasets and stay updated with new techniques.
