Pay rate: from $28-$35 per hour
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Install, configure, test, commission and maintain security systems including CCTV, access control, intruder alarm and intercom systems.
- Carry outelectrical cabling and wiringfor low-voltage security equipment in accordance with technical drawings, site plans and wiring diagrams.
- Read and interpretelectrical engineering drawings, schematics and system layouts.
- Diagnose system faults, perform repairs and scheduled maintenance to ensure all systems operate reliably.
- Install and terminate data cables, coaxial cables, fibre and power supplies for security devices.
- Configure and troubleshootPLC, relay and control circuitsassociated with security and access control systems.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance to minimise system downtime.
- Liaise with project managers, electricians, clients and site personnel to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Ensure all work complies withNew Zealand electrical safety regulations, building codes, and health and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate records of installations, maintenance activities, repairs and parts replacements.

Hours per week: min 30, max 60 hours per week

Requirements- Diploma or degree inElectrical Engineering, Electronic Engineeringor a related field;OR at least 2 years of relevant work experience.
- Proven experience with security systems (CCTV, alarms, access control or intercoms) is highly regarded.
- Solid understanding ofelectrical cabling, wiring and low-voltage systems.
- Ability to read and interprettechnical drawings, wiring diagrams and system specifications.
- Familiarity withPLC, relay and motor/speed control systemsis an advantage.
- Strong fault-finding, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
