Job summary

NZDF in Auckland seeks a Site Supervisor, Security Guard Force at Devonport Naval Base. You’ll lead four team leaders and a 24/7 security operation, develop people, drive change, and uphold high standards even when no one is watching.

You’ll own outcomes at the site and coordinate with Navy and NZDF staff at all levels. Salary around $85,000 inclusive of a 4% superannuation; appointments based on skills and experience.

Qualifications

• Real leadership of a team of 20+ people.
• Proven track record of developing people.
• Experience leading through change.
• Ability to make calls under pressure and explain them afterwards.
• Full Class 1 NZ driver licence.
• Good level of physical fitness.
• Experience in security, defence, emergency services, or related environments.
• Knowledge of NZDF and PSR.
• Public or state sector experience.
• Experience with performance and employment processes.
• Current First Aid certificate or arrangements.

Responsibilities

• Lead the security operation at Devonport Naval Base and a 24/7 roster.
• Develop and back-team leaders and manage change.
• Own what happens at the site, including reporting and improvements.
• Act as security voice in Navy/NZDF discussions at all levels.
