Working within a fast-paced and complex hospital environment, you will be responsible for helping maintain a safe and secure setting across our Tauranga Hospital site. This includes monitoring behaviour, managing high-risk incidents with professionalism and empathy, supporting staff, and ensuring the wellbeing of patients and visitors. No two days are the same, and your ability to stay calm under pressure will be your superpower.
The role is rostered across Monday to Sunday, including weekends and shifts (morning, afternoon, and overnight), so flexibility and resilience are essential.
You will join a hardworking, close-knit team of Security Officers who bring a strong sense of duty, manaakitanga, and community spirit to their mahi. Every member of the team plays a key role in supporting frontline healthcare delivery – responding to incidents, de-escalating situations, and offering visible support and protection. It’s not just about safety, it’s about creating a place where staff and patients feel supported, respected, and secure.
