Job summary

Foodstuffs North Island is seeking an experienced Security & Facial Recognition Technology (FRT) Manager to lead our enterprise security capability and oversee FRT delivery across stores. You will own the end-to-end operating model, ensuring safety, privacy-by-design, and regulatory compliance while reducing harm and loss.

You will partner with internal and external stakeholders to drive governance, training, and successful adoption of FRT, building a high-performing team and strong vendor

Qualifications

• Senior-level leadership across security, loss prevention, risk, or integrity functions in large or complex environments.
• Experience leading technology-enabled or data-driven programmes with governance and compliance.
• Proven ability to influence stakeholders at all levels while balancing ethical considerations.

Responsibilities

• Provide enterprise leadership for security and loss prevention across Foodstuffs North Island.
• Lead the rollout and ongoing operation of Facial Recognition Technology (FRT), ensuring readiness and adoption.
• Ensure all FRT use is privacy-by-design and compliant with legislation and regulatory expectations.
• Establish and maintain governance frameworks, policies, and controls.
• Oversee day-to-day operations including alert accuracy, audits, and risk management.
• Analyze security and incident data to drive improvements in safety and shrink.
• Manage vendor partnerships (including Auror) and performance outcomes.
• Partner across Retail Operations, IT, Legal, Privacy, and Store Owners.
• Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing security & FRT team.

Te Tūranga – About the role

We’re looking for an experienced Security & Facial Recognition Technology (FRT) Manager to lead our enterprise security capability and oversee the delivery and operation of FRT across our stores.

This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for ensuring our security systems and FRT programme are safe, ethical, compliant and effective - protecting our people, customers, and communities while reducing harm and loss.

You’ll own the end-to-end FRT operating model, from rollout through to governance and ongoing optimisation, working closely with internal and external stakeholders.

Being highly data-driven, with strong analytical capability and a track record of using insights to inform decisions, you combine strategic thinking with practical execution, ensuring initiatives are both well-designed and effectively delivered. Your ability to interpret complex data sets and translate them into actionable plans sets you apart.

You bring senior-level experience across security, loss prevention, risk, or integrity functions within large or complex environments. You have successfully led technology-enabled or data-driven programmes and built robust governance, compliance, and operating frameworks. In addition, you have demonstrated success leading teams through change and transformation, building capability while fostering engagement and performance.
