Job summary

Darlings Fruit Ltd in Central Otago is seeking two hard-working orchard team members to join the thinning crew, starting Monday 19th October. The role involves removing excess fruitlets to help the remaining fruit grow. Work is physically demanding, involves ladders, and requires good fitness.

Candidates should have good English, reliability, and a positive attitude, and be comfortable with heights. Hours are 8.00am to 5.00pm, Monday to Saturday, with on-site accommodation available near

Responsibilities

• Being part of a supervised team, you will be removing excess fruitlets from trees so that the remaining ones grow large enough.
• Work involves using ladders. It is physically demanding work so you must be confident in your base level of fitness to apply.
• Any previous orchard, farm work or labouring experience would be an advantage but is not essential.
• As you will be working up a ladder, you must be comfortable with heights.
• You need to be fit and healthy!
• The work is quite repetitive so you will need the ability to self-motivate to achieve goals and manage yourself when the work is physically demanding.
