Job summary

Cambridge High School (CHS) invites applications for a full-time Certificated teacher in Science. The successful candidate will teach across Years 7–15 and senior Science subjects, joining a collaborative Science faculty in a school with a strong focus on community needs and blended e-learning to meet upcoming curriculum changes.

Applicants should be trained and registered teachers in New Zealand, with a solid understanding of NCEA assessment.

Science

Cambridge High School (CHS) is a co-educational school, established in 1883, with a roll of approximately 1,800 students. Cambridge is in the heart of the Waikato region and has recently become a focus for elite sport with Cycling, Triathlon, Kayaking and Rowing establishing their New Zealand bases here. Cambridge High School serves the interests of the community incredibly well, meeting the varied academic, trades, cultural and sporting needs of our students. Places at CHS are highly sought after with families choosing to move into town to gain access to the school.

This full-time permanent position commences Term 1 2027.

An opportunity exists to join our Science faculty. Our faculty is student-focused, collegial and supportive. The ideal candidate will be collaborative, future-focused and open to the opportunities provided with blended e-learning and the coming curriculum changes. We invite applications from teachers who are looking to effect positive change for learners. Please indicate your specialty in a senior Science subject. An understanding of NCEA assessment is expected.

The terms and conditions, including base salary, for this position is set by the Secondary Teachers’ Collective Agreement. The base salary for trained and registered teachers will range from $62,862 to $105,686, depending on applicant’s qualifications and experience. Individuals’ actual base salary will be established by a salary assessment once a role is confirmed.
