Job summary

Te Awamutu College in the Waikato region invites applications for a Certificated teacher to teach Science in the Secondary and wharekura streams. This full-time, fixed-term position starts 28 January 2027 and ends 27 January 2028 to cover maternity leave.

The successful applicant will deliver engaging science instruction, contribute to assessment and reporting, and embed Mātauranga Māori within the curriculum, while joining a well-resourced learning area.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current teaching certificate and be NZ registered.
• Experience teaching Science at secondary level in NZ preferred.
• Knowledge of the NZ Curriculum and assessment requirements.

Responsibilities

• Teach Science to Years 7–15 including wharekura.
• Contribute to student assessment and reporting processes.
• Embed Mātauranga Māori within the curriculum.
• Collaborate with colleagues in a well-resourced learning area.
