Job summary

Mt Aspiring College in Wanaka invites a certificated teacher to join us on a full-time fixed-term maternity leave cover from 21 January 2027 to 10 December 2027.

The successful applicant will teach English to senior levels, while contributing across a broad curriculum (Health and Physical Education, Languages, Mathematics and Statistics, Science, Social Sciences, Technology, Te reo Māori and The Arts), and embody inclusive practice and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of the New Zealand Curriculum in English.
• Enthusiasm for contributing to and developing their subject area.
• Ability to connect with and inspire a diverse range of learners.
• Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and inclusive education practices.

Mount Aspiring College is a year 7-13 school in Wanaka. We are a community school and provide an extensive English programme supporting students to achieve excellent results and experience a broad range of English teaching skills.

We are seeking a teacher (beginning or experienced) who is wanting to support our students to be creative, curious, courageous and compassionate learners, to support the engagement of our learners, and who is confident teaching English to senior levels.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:
