Job summary

Tranzit is seeking safe and confident drivers to support school bus services and charter work in the Taranaki region. Roles involve school runs in New Plymouth, with depot access at Sunley St, Stratford or Inglewood. The position is 20 hours per week during school terms, with potential for extra hours during holidays.

We’re looking for candidates with a positive attitude, strong communication, and a solid safety mindset. Training is provided, and a drug/police background check is required.

Qualifications

• Must have a full car licence for at least 2 years.
• Class 2 or Class 4 licence required; P Endorsement preferred.
• Ability to pass a medical and police check.
• Local knowledge of the Taranaki region is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Drive school runs and charter work across New Plymouth and surrounding areas.
• Work 20 hours per week, with a couple of hours each morning and afternoon, Monday to Friday (term time).
• Rostered hours with training provided by the team.
• Join a safety‑focused, people‑friendly team and support the local community.

Tranzit are looking for awesome drivers to join their Taranaki team to support the community in school bus services and charter work across the region. We are seeking safe and confident drivers with local area knowledge to operate school runs across New Plymouth. We have opportunities for drivers based near our depot in Sunley St as well as Stratford and Inglewood. The role is 20 hours per week, made up of a couple of hours each morning and afternoon Monday - Friday. These hours apply to school term time only, allowing you to enjoy the school holidays off for travel or pick up charter work for extra hours during the week or in the school holidays.

We are looking for:

• A positive attitude, excellent communicator and enjoys talking to people,
• A team player with a high regard for Health and Safety,
• A safe and confident driver with a clean record, having held a full car licence for at least 2 years,
• A class 2 or class 4 licence,
• A P Endorsement is preferred, but we can assist you to obtain this,
• Ability to pass a medical and police check,
