Whakatane Intermediate School (U6) is seeking to appoint a permanent, full-time ScaleA teacher, commencing term 1, 2026.

Whakatane Intermediate is a PB4L school that embraces CRRP and its principles, runs Y7 & 8 composite classes, and is proud of its bicultural environment.

We are seeking an energetic, self-motivated educator who values and understands the unique nature of the emerging adolescent. Experience with this age group is not essential, but an interest and passion for working with them would be an advantage. Strong curriculum knowledge, coupled with awareness of the science of learning and structured pedagogies, is highly valued.

The successful applicant will be collaborative, able to build strong relationships with whānau, committed to being a learner themselves, and willing to contribute to our friendly and caring staffroom culture. A commitment to supporting the school’s strong co-curricular programme will also be welcomed.
