We are seeking passionate and creative ‘SPEC’ teachers to design and deliver skills based programmes in the areas of food Science/garden to table and movement and recreation.

These new positions offer the opportunity to develop meaningful, practical learning pathways that promote independence and life skills for neurodiverse learners within our transition unit and secondary aged students at our new Base school site.

Food science / garden to table teacher
  • Co-design and implement a skills-based curriculum in horticulture, food technology, and cooking.
  • Manage resources and budgets including the support care of the gardens and chickens.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and learning assistants to provide authentic learning experiences.
  • Build strong partnerships with whānau and professional networks, reporting student progress through Seesaw.
Movement and recreation teacher
  • Co-design and implement a skills-based curriculum in health, fitness and recreation
  • Teach swimming and water safety skills
  • Lead fitness and recreation classes
  • Manage the safe use and upkeep of the fitness centre and resources
